Scuba Diving in Hawaii

You think of Hawaii and the first thing which comes to your mind is holiday! It is a tourist destination with many attractions but one of the most thrilling activities to do in this out of the ordinary locale is scuba diving. Scuba diving in Hawaii is one of the most exciting experiences to have and it is also the top scuba diving destination on the globe. There are many good places in all over the state where you can enjoy diving. With its long coasts and great ambience scuba diving in Hawaii is one which will give you a lot of fun and adventure. If you have interest in diving you will not be able to resist scuba diving in Hawaii and enjoy it to the full.

Hawaii is better known for its bigger islands and some may not be aware that that there are more than a hundred islands which comprise this region. Maui, Oahu, Kauai and the self-named Big Island are the larger islands and are more popular with the tourists, but it will be very interesting to explore some of the smaller islands Lanai and Ni'iahu. This is that part of the world where the islands are surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on all sides and is one of the very far-flung parts of the world. You may not believe it but Hawaii is actually about two thousand miles away from any continent in the world!

Hawaii boasts of very rare and varied forms of marine life and there is a lot to explore scuba diving in Hawaii. More than twenty percent of marine life can be found in this region. But people here are very aware of their heritage and despite so much of tourism related activities and people wanting to discover new things, much remains intact and protected.

Everyone can scuba dive in Hawaii despite their skill level. You may be an immature diver or an experienced one you can enjoy the waters of Hawaii. But there are some islands in the group which are a favorite destination for the more experienced scuba divers. Most of these islands are located near some of the many volcanoes which are there in Hawaii.

If you are looking for the best scuba diving location in Hawaii you will have to reach Oahu as it obviously one of the best. Here you can explore old shipwrecks and grottoes, discover the lava from the volcanoes deposited offshore and more can be found in the depths of Oahu water. Marine life being very active here you will come across rare fishes and endangered turtles too. The western part of the state of Maui there are many diving places which cater to people of all levels of skill.

It may be a little difficult to reach Kauai during the winters but no doubt it is great destination for scuba diving in summer. As it has some very challenging and rugged places and will be interesting for more experienced divers.
